Of course, there are other things that need to be taken into account. There is no one right way to build a colony as it depends on multiple factors, but a good way to start is to focus on finding a balance between placement of production and storage facilities in relation to resource deposits and shelters. Establishing functioning production chains, effective logistics, and supporting infrastructure are the key to a thriving colony.
